It's
not everyday that you hear that someone's hero is their math teacher
But
this is the case for me
We
sit through lectures everyday
But
we don't really think about our teacher's personal life
Most
of us don't really want to
But
how can I not
My
hero is my math teacher
He
loves what he does and it truly shows, he loves his students and he loves
teaching
I
know whenever I greet him he always has this illuminating smile on
He
never lets his real emotions about his disease show to his students
Which
I think is incredibly strong of him
My
hero is my math teacher
We
never really think of writing, eating, walking, or even tying our shoes as
challenging
But
for him, it can be an insurmountable task
My
teacher has a terminal disease that can eventually take his life
But
even though I'm extremely sad about it
And
sometimes cry until I can't cry anymore
I
feel better when I know he will go to heaven
My
hero is my math teacher
His
attitude toward his disease is very positive
And
even though I know he is sad about leaving his wife and children
He
still finds a way to be positive through all of the frustration and pain
And
after all he's been through in the past
So
he can leave his family and students with good memories
Instead
of just the memory of the disease
My
hero is my math teacher
He
is partially paralyzed but he is the strongest person I've ever known
He
has taught me not only to find the slope of an angle or how to figure out
proportions
But
how to appreciate life and not to take it for granted
I
have a much better appreciation for life now because of him
He
has inspired me to pursue all of my dreams and to always be optimistic
Even
though his body won't be here forever,
I
know he will still be here in soul and in my heart forever.
My
hero is my math teacher
I
pray that he will be one of the few with his disease who will live to see his
children graduate
And
I know that because of his great outlook on life that he will be
I've
tried to tell him how I feel in person
But
I can't without breaking down or not knowing what to say
So
I thought this would be a better way
My
hero is my math teacher

Stallings you truly are my hero and I want to thank you for all you've taught
me and all you've inspired me to do. My thoughts and prayers are with you and
your family.
